Aubrey Tambellini Guided Beginnings
A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to expecting parents before, during, and after childbirth. Doulas are not medical professionals, and work closely with your Obgyn or Midwife during labor.
It’s advisable to hire a doula early in your pregnancy, ideally during the second trimester, to establish a connection and benefit from their guidance. The sooner the better!
Doulas support all types of births, including umedicated births, medicated births, and cesarean sections. A doula is there to support you in any/all birth decisions.
It is difficult for your birth partner to do it all. Not many people are capable of doing hip squeezes and provide water at the same time! Doula’s help partners feel more confident and involved in the birthing process.
Doulas are beneficial for both first-time and experienced parents. Each pregnancy and birth experience is unique, and a doula can provide support tailored to your individual needs.
In some cases, insurance may cover doula services. More and more plans are beginning to offer this option. It’s recommended to check with your insurance provider to explore potential reimbursement options.
A doula should fully support and align to your birth goals. It is important that you feel comfortable with your doula! Compile a list of questions to ask doulas during the interview process!
I am on call for your birth starting at 37 weeks, but I am always happy to answer any questions. Shoot me a text or call me any time!
